AirPlay is a non-profit art-association (2004) based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The goal of the association is to present contemporary art in the public realm. We cooperate with artists, who create innovative and challenging projects as well as they examine the ideas and values that shape our society and urban space. AirPlay Street Gallery explores the concept of the gallery by making it open air and by presenting digital art and performance art. This gallery supports an active exchange of impressions between artists, audience and public areas. The mediator is a public art that encourage a vigorous and free expression. We believe in making art into an active player in a commercialized urban space. At alt_cph Copenhagen Alternative Art Fair, AirPlay does not sell artists work, but presents the gallery’s first three Spring-exhibitions 2006: Stafet i frit rum (Baton in free space), Retrolyd (Retrosound), PerformancePluk (Performancescraps) - and the ones to come: SoundPicture... AirPlay presents artists who relate to public space in their work... and who has a certain awareness of the cross-art sphere.
